Dearest Jazz and Barbie,
Words cannot express how sad we feel for the loss of your mom. John and I did not know her well, but we know the two of you. You each will carry a part of Sonia with you. You each have intelligence and charm and grace and wonderful senses of humor, some of which I'm sure you got from Sonia. John and I wish we could do some magic spell to make this not so painful, but we can't. All we can do is say we love you both very much and you are always in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Kris and John Godinez

I love you Mom & will miss you. There are so many things to say... But you know how I feel. We had that wonderful trip to Mexico last month & I got to tell you how much I appreciated Ycamp, our wedding, our house, your cooking, your love of literature, books, photography, Art, poetry, esp, L.Carroll. So many things, Mom, the hell we all survived, #150, 1975, tic-tacs & sugar cereals, Steven & Michael, Mike & Grams... But mostly, the good, like late nite talks, sardines, being able to cry together & laugh, too. Stuffy drinking your contact lens water. Ditching school & getting caught. You got to see me graduate & get married..and he is wonderful and is hurting, too. So many things Mom... You kept everything. You were tough on the outside but sentimental on the inside. I understand you so much better now. Aries always have to go 1st. I didnt get to say goodbye. The last time we talked I was complaining about four more years and you said life goes on.... So I guess it does. But Im soo sad & I hate dismantling your life. All you worked for, your degress & honors being taken off the walls. Is that what happens to us? We just become memories in someones attic? your computer museum is still there. But soon it too will be packed away. But I feel you all around us. You gave us so much of yourself and probably gave the best you could, and therefore I have so much of you to hold onto. You love to travel, to learn , to explore, so, enjoy your new journey and remember us. We love you.
