Stanley Bierman Obituary

Stanley Melvin Bierman M.D. of Beverly Hills, CA passed away on January 21st 2022 at Providence Saint John's Health Center located in Santa Monica, CA. Though triple vaxxed Stanley's death was caused by a combination of Alzheimer's and infection made worse by the COVID-19 virus. He is survived by his children Wendy (Paul Harte), Robert (Sandra Codner Bierman) and Jeffrey (Monica Martinez Bierman), and by his grandchildren Lila, Spencer, and Daphne.
Stanley was born on March 26th 1935 in Los Angeles, CA to Maurice Bierman and Bella Koran Bierman. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1953 and attended UCLA where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. Following graduation Stanley was accepted at UCLA's School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the UCLA Medical Center with a focus in dermatology. After earning his MD, Stanley started a private practice in Century City, CA, which lasted over 45 years. He preceded in death by his beloved wife Marlene by just 23 hours, which makes heartbroken sense to his children as one parent didn't exist without the other.
Stanley was remarkably cerebral, scholarly, and successful throughout his life. He placed at the top of both his undergraduate and medical school classes. Whether it be his academic career, his professional medical tenure, or his various collecting hobbies (stamps, books, art, Jewish maps), he excelled in his drive for deep expertise. Stanley was a brilliant and gifted dermatologist unparalleled when it came to the treatment of skin disorders. He was also a world recognized expert on herpes.
Together, Stanley and Marlene were world travelers, always returning with a souvenir. Stanley was a loving father, husband, and friend who gave out health advice, then meticulously followed up because he was first and foremost a healer. Even when deep in Alzheimer's he could rattle off facts, symptoms, and tests that should be considered for any medical question asked. He was greatly loved by his sister Nadine Steinberg, along with his kids, their spouses, grandkids, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, long-time friends, neighbors, patients, helpers, and Reggie the dog.

Incredible dermatologist who really helped me when I was in a seemingly hopeless situation. I appreciated his frankness and brutal honesty and he really turned my life around. He was fiercely intelligent and old school, but he cared about his patients and didn't pander to them. He was all about results and getting you better. I'm very, very sorry to hear about his passing. He helped a lot of people and made a huge difference in my life and I'm sure many others.
