Terry Supple Obituary

August 1, 1942 - January 10, 2016 Terry Michael Supple was born on August 1, 1942 in Santa Monica, CA weighing in at 11 lbs. 4 oz! He was the second of five boys born to Tom and Phil Supple. He is survived by his brothers Tom (Margaret), Steve (Judy), Kevin (Sunny), and Rory (Christine). He was the beloved husband to his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Sandy, and adored father to Ann Hirou (Bradley), Michael, and Daniel (Kelly). He is survived by his sweet granddaughters Elle Hirou, Violet Supple, and step-granddaughter Sophia Travalena. A grandson is due in May. He is also survived by his Aunt, Bonnie Nelson, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Terry was part of the first graduating class of St. Cyril's in Encino and those fellow classmates have remained life-long friends. He graduated from Notre Dame High School where he was the student body president and captain of the football team. Terry received his bachelors degree from the business school at USC, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity and lettered in rugby. He received his masters degree in business administration/management from CSUN. Terry went on to a successful 41-year career with building products manufacturer United States Gypsum Co. After retiring in 2007, Terry pursued his passion for genealogy, travel, and painting. He lost his valiant two-year battle against salivary gland cancer on Sunday, January 10, at home in the arms of his wife and children. He will be remembered for his integrity, his quick humor, his selfless kindness to all, and his devotion to his family. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mel Catholic Church in Woodland Hills, CA on Saturday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Terry to Mary Health of the Sick (2929 Theresa Dr., Newbury Park, CA 91320) or the Disney Family Cancer Center (Providence Saint Joseph Foundation at 501 South Buena Vista Street, Burbank, CA 91505.)

You were a friend to me as a young man and you believed in my talent as an athlete. I know you are in a better place and I´m grateful for you and your wonderful family for many wonderful memories I created with your son Danny, as we were very close. I thank God for you and your family. Rest In peace.

Terry was a great guy!
He always supported me even though he was a couple years older than me. That was such an inspiration to me at that time and I still think of him often and what that meant to me then and still does today!
Thanks my old friend,

Sandy & family, my heartfelt prayers go out to all of you. Terry was special to all who knew him and will be remembered for his kindness, wit and playfulness (as in your walk down the aisle after your wedding ceremony and all the Supple "boys" in tuxes, "saluted" you -- need I say more? I thought Fr. Lawlor was going to fall off the altar in laughter. Good memories.

Although I haven't seen Terry in over 50 years he has always had a special place in my heart. After Football games at ND he would come up to me and say what a block you made on that guy in the 2nd quarter or that tackle in the 4th quarter was unbelievable. He had the great ability of making me feel very special and I will never forget that !

To his family you were very fortunate to have a special man as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, or any other family member or a friend.

Rest in peace Terry, YOU WERE THE BEST !!!!

Terry Supple was a great man. I valued his friendship more than any man I have ever known. He always made a person feel special or interesting or funny even though he was more special and interesting and funny than anybody else. I will always miss him and love him.
