Victor Conners Obituary

CONNERS , Victor (Brother Christian
FSC) was born in Eureka, CA on October 13, 1912 to George Wilbert Conners and Vincencia Valdes. He was a member of the De La Salle Christian Brothers for 54 years and died at Napa, California on July 13, 2007 at the age of 94. Brother Christian began his association with the De La Salle Christian Brothers following his service in the Seabee's in the Pacific during World War II and various construction jobs, including work on the Golden Gate Bridge. Brother was 40 when he received the habit of the Brothers and entered the novitiate to begin his studies. Following his graduation from St. Mary's College of California in 1958 and worked for ten years at La Salle High School, Pasadena, CA, as supervisor of maintenance. In 1968 he was assigned to St. Mary's College where he worked as archivist and assistant librarian in-charge of audio-visuals until 1992 when he fully retired at Mont La Salle in the Holy Family Community. The last few days of his life Brother was under the care of Hospice of Napa Valley.
He is survived by his nephew, Rob Conners of Sebastopol, his niece, Kathleen Slavens of Napa, and grand and great-grand nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will b egin at Mont La Salle, Napa, California on Friday, July 20 in the Mont La Salle Chapel at 9:00 a.m. with viewing followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 a.m and the burial in the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please m ake donations to the Lasallian Education Fund, De La Salle Institute, 4401 Redwood Road, Napa, CA 94558. Funeral services through Claffey and Rota , Napa .
