Walter Krauss Obituary

January 21, 1930 - September 30, 2015
Walter ("Wally") was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Los Angeles in 1946. Wally, who was a 38 year resident of Sherman Oaks, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 30 after a long battle with Alzheimers and Parkinson's disease.
Wally served as a health inspector for the Board of Education for many years, and then changed paths and became at attorney at the age of 40. After serving as both a public defender and District Attorney, he started a very successful practice in the Van Nuys area. Wally was a brilliant lawyer, and was well respected by both his colleagues and judges. He was a man of integrity and great morality. He believed in justice and fairness for all.
Besides his passion for his family and practicing law, Wally led a very full life and indulged in his love of travel. He and his wife Sandy traveled the world with both his family and friends. His other interests included photography, tennis, playing cards, the Sunday Crossword puzzle, and entertaining at his home.
Wally is survived by his wife Sandy, children Steve (Debbie), Sue (Garry) and Todd (Karina). He will be sorely missed by his wife, children and 6 grandkids, Derek, Matt, Brett, Andrew, Alyssa and Myles.
Wally was a kind and gentle soul who touched all those he knew. He was extremely generous and always there to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered fondly by all.
Services were held at Mount Sinai on Sunday, October 4th.
