Warren Edward Wald

Warren Wald Obituary

Wald, Warren Edward (Bud) (78) died peacefully in Glendale on May 1, 2004 as a result of lymphoma. Warren was born May 20, 1925 to Frank and Ella Ward in San Francisco, CA. In 1928 the family moved to Seattle, WA where Warren grew up and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945. After a short time at the University of Washington, he went to work for Ernst Hardware Company. In his spare time, he began a part time job as a vendor at Sick's Seattle Stadium, the home of the Seattle Rainiers Baseball club. He also worked many of the local football and basketball games of that era.
In 1957, Warren moved to Los Angeles, CA to work for the Hershey Co. and during tax season he assisted at H & R Block. He also began an extensive career as a vendor at numerous sporting events in the Los Angeles area. He spent approximately 40 plus years with Aramark Corporation at Dodger Stadium "never missing a game." Warren often referred to the season ticket holder as his "second family.' During his time at Dodger Stadium he was invited by the Pepsi Corporation to be in a commercial that depicted their product but also brought out Warren's bubbly and outgoing spirit. During the winter months, he worked many basketball games and other events that were scheduled at the Forum and Staples Center before his retirement in 2000. He loved dancing and could often be seen high stepping at the Alpine Village. Warren leaves behind his younger brother Forrest; a nephew Dan; nieces Maxine and Roberta, and sister-in-law Gale, all of Seattle. A Memorial service in celebration of Warren's life will be held at Woods-Scovern Glendale Mortuary, 311 S. Central Avenue, Glendale on Saturday, May 22nd at 1:00 pm. His remains will be taken to Seattle for burial.
