William Ralph Hobson

Hobson, William Ralph February 20, 1948-October 21, 2001 After a seven month battle with lung cancer, Bill died peacefully at the home he shared with his loving partner of ten years, Ralph David Morrison III. Cherished son of Ralph C. Hobson and the late Joyce (Houghton) Hobson, and loving stepson of Elaine Hobson; beloved brother of Deborah (Tom) Farley of Pennsylvania and Australia, and Benjamin (Linda) Hobson of Michigan; proud uncle of Tad (Libby) Masteller, Darci Callendar, Kim (Glenn) Sims, Tim (Amy) Hobson, and grandnieces and grandnephews Jason, Lauren, Ryan, Alan, Tristan, Trevor, Trey, Tanner, Peyton, and Remington. Bill previously shared ten years with his former partner, the late Gerald Steven Newby.
Bill served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, worked nearly two decades as Franchise Director for Sizzler Corporation, and was active in local community fundraising and charity events. His work at Faultline garnered commendations from City of Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan and most recently, Being Alive's Spirit of Hope Award. "The many friends and family, from Sizzler to Faultline and before and beyond, wish you back all the love that you so generously gave in your lifetime, in your actions, in your smiles, in your hugs, in your humor, and in your fairness and calm steadiness. We all miss you and love you more than can be expressed." Friends are invited to the house for a celebration of Bill's life, Sat. afternoon, Nov. 3, from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's name to: "Being Alive", 621 N.
