Dr. William Holyoak

HOLYOAK, Dr. William H. Passed away July 28, 2006, at the age of 85. A talented physician, he practiced psychiatry and psychoanalysis in Beverly Hills and Encino for over 40 years. He attended Creighton University School of Medicine. After graduation, he came to California to complete his internship at Queen of Angels Hospital. He spent the next two years doing general practice until he was called to serve in the U.S. Army. Upon discharge, he returned to California to complete his residency in psychiatry at the Veteran's Administration in Los Angeles. His increasing interest in psychiatry led him to pursue additional training in psychoanalysis at the Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute. He volunteered his time to many organizations and he thoroughly enjoyed teaching other physicians as an Associate Clinical Professor at U.C.L.A. and U.S.C. He was a loving husband, father, friend to many, and a kind and giving soul. He is survived by his beloved wife, two daughters, their husbands, a grandson and a sister. Services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills.
