William Singer M.D.

1928 - 2021

William "Bill" Singer, M.D., loving husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and respected pediatrician passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021 at the age of 92.Bill was born in Chicago on November 8, 1928 to Sol and Rae Singer, their only child. He attended Roosevelt High School and the University of Illinois and subsequently graduated from the University Of Illinois Medical School.Bill was a pediatric intern/resident at the Los Angeles County General Hospital where in 1952 he met his future wife Sondra ("Sandee"), a nurse. Bill and Sandee were married for 59 years until Sandee's death in 2013. They had six children. During his career, Bill practiced pediatrics in Encino, held the position of Chief of Staff at Encino Hospital, and was an attending physician at LAC-USC Medical Center. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, and golfing. Bill was an avid USC fan.Bill is survived by his children Jill Koller (Marty), Neal Singer (Debbie), Amy Silverman (Lee), Ted Singer (Charmaine), Carla Perlmutter (Tom), and Bruce Singer (Tracy), 18 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held at Mount Sinai, Hollywood Hills.The family suggests that any donations in Bill's memory be made to The Los Angeles Jewish Home or LA County/USC CARES program.
