Dr. Yutaka Douglas TAGUCHI

1928 - 2016

March 30, 1928 - March 26, 2016 Yutaka Douglas Taguchi, MD, born in Rocky Ford, CO on March 30, 1928 as the sixth of seven children, outlived all his siblings until he passed away peacefully on March 26, 2016 in West Hills, CA. Douglas graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1946, University of Colorado, Boulder in 1950 and completed his formal education at University of Colorado Medical School in 1954. Dr. Taguchi began his medical training at LAC-USC County Hospital. After completing his internship, he joined the army and was stationed in Germany 1957-1958, not only as a physician, but also a liaison between the Americans and Germans. After returning to the United States, Dr. Taguchi started his residency in OB/GYN at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles and worked enthusiastically for the next 30 + years, dedicated to the care and well being of his patients. He very much appreciated his staff and colleagues. Although policy required he retire in 1994, he continued to work in private practice until he took his last breath. Douglas was an avid skier, photographer, traveler and patron of the arts. He learned to play the clarinet and piano and he loved classical music, possessing innumerable records, CDs, and recordings. He could dance the night away. Douglas is beloved by his family, patients and colleagues. He is survived by his five children, Julie (Bob Nagy), Kevin (Sepi Razavi), James (Lisa), Jennifer and Makenzie and six grandchildren, Ryan Nagy, Danielle, Andrew Nagy, Riley, Katie and Sahm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on April 22, 2016, 1:00 PM at Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City with a reception immediately following.
