Anne McBryde Obituary

GIBSON — Anne Shuford McBryde, 102, longtime resident of Gibson and Blowing Rock, NC, peacefully entered eternal life on Sept. 18, 2016. Her loving and devoted daughters, Anne and Barbara, were by her side at the time of passing.

Anne was born on November 8, 1913 in Conover, NC to Adrian Lafayette and Annie Warlick Shuford. She was predeceased by her spouses William McKenzie and Gaston McBryde; her parents; her siblings Adrian L. Shuford Jr., Mary Shuford Palmer and Betty Shuford Yount; and is survived by her brother, Henry Shuford (Nancy).

"Grannie Annie", as she was affectionately known to many, took great delight in her family, including her two daughters, Anne Shuford McKenzie and Barbara McKenzie Scott (Jim); three grandchildren, Robin Harvey (Jennifer Brown), Margaret Lawrence (Jamie), and Kathy Rummage (Abe); six great-grandchildren, Elise, Michael and William Harvey, Gavin Lawrence, and Brodie and Mack Rummage; and niece Vicky McKenzie Armes.

A memorial service celebrating Anne's life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church, at 3:30 p.m. Donations honoring Anne's memory may be made to: Laurinburg Presbyterian Church; St. Andrews University in Laurinburg; and Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church in Blowing Rock, NC.
