Daniel McPherson Obituary

SHALLOTTE — Daniel (Sap) McPherson Jr., age 67 of Shallotte, formerly of Laurinburg, passed away on June 21, 2015.

Dan was the son of the late Dan and Marie McPherson, born Sept. 3, 1947, in Fayetteville. He worked many years as Plant Manager of Edwards Wood Products and later retired as a self-employed landscaper. He was a talented guitarist and enjoyed playing with the Northview Harvest Ministries Praise Team. He loved spending time with his family as well as fishing and enjoying a few rounds of golf. He was a compassionate and loving man who always took care of his family and was always willing to help others. His grandchildren and his two little dogs were very dear to him.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Hatcher McPherson of the home in Shallotte; children, Duane McPherson (Vicky) of Laurel Hill and Heather Johnson (Michael) of Salisbury; grandchildren Tyler McPherson, Morgan McPherson and Nathan Johnson; a special person, Jennifer Parker, who loved and cared for him like a daughter, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Northview Harvest Ministries with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

A death too soon robbed us of the opportunity to deepen a friendship with a man who showed us his joy for life and family, his optimism about tomorrow, and his abiding concern for others. We pray for Peggy and all of the family he loved so much.
