LAURINBURG — David Edward Breeden, 79, died Monday, April 22, 2024 at his home surrounded by his beloved family.
He was born August 26th, 1944 to Floyd and Geneva Norton Breeden. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years before becoming a successful Agri-businessman for 58 years. His passion was operating Breeden Farms. He was a legend at Breeden's Corner. David was known for his generosity, compassion, and willingness to lend a helping hand to everyone. He was a member of Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church where he was a participant in the Unity Class. He was a former Deacon and Elder. His contributions to the success of the annual ingathering will be greatly missed. David loved the outdoors, and his many hunting trips all over the world led to many enjoyable stories. His slogan, "If it flies, it dies" was taught to the young and old.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Hudson and Mabel Quick. David is survived by his friend, partner, and wife of 42 years, Betty; sister, Barbara Snuggs (John) of Laurinburg; sons, David E. Breeden, Jr. (Andrea) of Kingston, GA, and Jayson Breeden (Keri) of Laurinburg; daughters, Kim Breeden of Dunn, and Aimie Hoover (David) of Raeford; grandchildren, Sophia Breeden of Lakeland, GA, David E. Breeden, III (Cailyn) of Cartersville, GA, Mollie, Max, and Jake Hoover of Raeford, Carleigh McKeithan of Lumber Bridge, and Chloe Breeden of the home; and one great-grandchild, David E. Breeden, IV of Cartersville, GA; many nieces and nephews, and too many special friends to name.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, April 25th at 2 p.m. at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church, with a private burial to follow.

This broke my heart this morning. I've known "Mr. David" as far back as I can remember. My father and Mr. David were friends and both farmers. I was always guaranteed a smile and laugh when I encountered Mr. David. Please accept my condolences for your loss. I'll keep you all in my Prayers.
