LAURINBURG — Joyce Duffie Hatchell, 77, passed away June 2, 2015.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stewartsville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
She is survived by her sons, Clyde "Marty" Hatchell (Melinda) of Gastonia, Richard "Ricky" Hatchell (Tammy) of White Lake and William "Gary" Hatchell (Malinda) of Laurinburg; her brother, Larry Baughman of North Augusta, South Carolina; her sisters, Patsy Plexico of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Kay Griffin of Ninety Six, South Carolina; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Hatchell of Laurinburg and her grandchildren, Eric Hatchell, Jessie Nicole Padget (Brit), Joshua Hatchell, Jacob Hatchell, Seth Hatchell, Caleb Hatchell and Morgan Hatchell. She was preceded in death by a son, Russell "Rusty" Hatchell.
Born April 8, 1938 in Saluda, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Marvin B. Duffie and Fannie Leaphart Duffie Baughman, and widow of the late Clyde W. Hatchell. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow up and play sports as well as listening to music and singing.
Most recently she served as the activity administrator at Willow Haven.
Memorials are requested for Stewartsville Baptist Church, 10401 McColl Rd., Laurinburg, NC 28352.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Stewartsville Baptist Church.
McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is serving the family.

"Honor your father and mother"...something the Hatchell boys always did until Ms. Hatchell's last day. What a wonderful family Ms. Hatchell had and what a blessing they were to her, and her to them.
