Junette Rastom Obituary
LAURINBURG — Miss Junette G. Rastom, age 93, passed away on October 23, 2023, at her home in Seminole County, Florida.
A graveside service with military rites will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Hillside Cemetery, officiated by Father Cyriac John
Born on September 27, 1930, in Scotland County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Samel Rastom and Marguerite Sasseen Rastom. Miss Rastom held a Master's Degree in Music, and used her passion for music to inspire others, leading a successful career as a music and chorus teacher with the Seminole County School System in Florida. Before her teaching career, Miss Rastom served her country with honor and dignity as a Captain in the United States Air Force. Her commitment to her country was parallel to her commitment to her community, exemplified by her involvement with the Delta Kappa Sorority. Her leadership and camaraderie within these organizations were revered by all who worked alongside her. She attended the Nativity Church in Lake Mary, Florida. Miss Rastom is survived by her cousin, Anthony Sasseen of Little River, South Carolina, and her friend, Patty Swann of Sanford, Florida.
