LAURINBURG — Patricia Ann Leviner Locklear, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Michael Malpass and Pastor Tracy Gross. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Gibson.
Born on April 16, 1946, in Scotland County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Marcus and Josephine Locklear Leviner.
Patricia certainly left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Patricia retired from Rostra and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Her faith played a significant role in her life, guiding her through trials and tribulations, and she often shared this faith with those around her. Patricia was known for her loving nature and generous spirit. Her compassion and kindness were a beacon of light in the lives of everyone around her. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, often making her rounds on the phone to keep in touch with her loved ones and friends.
She was the loving wife of Thomas Locklear, with whom she shared a beautiful 60-year journey. Patricia was the proud mother of Timothy Nicholas Locklear and his wife, Char, of Gibson; and Glen Thomas Locklear and his wife, Crystal, of Wilmington. She was sister to Robert John Leviner of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, Darnel Leviner of Gibson, and Annie Ruth Holley of Douglasville, Georgia.
Patricia also held a special place in her heart for her sister-in-law, Deavie Strickland and her husband, Donnie of Laurinburg. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Jonthomas (Cristin), Erica, Coen, Caden, and Bradley (Katie); and four great-grandchildren, Ely, Hanna, Dawson, and Ellie, who brought additional happiness to her life. Patricia also shared a special bond with close family friends, Michael Medlin, Tabatha Medlin, and Hunter Medlin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Marcus Leviner Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium. Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium is assisting the Locklear family.
