LAURINBURG — Virginia "Jinny" Baker of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 58 on Aug. 18, 2025.
She was born in Horry County on Aug. 10, 1967, the daughter of the late Robert Hatchell Sr. and the late Jo Hatchell.
Jinny loved spending time with her family and her dogs. She was straightforward and always told you what you needed to hear instead of what you wanted to hear.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Sherrie Wentz of Cowpens, South Carolina, and Barbara Hatchell of Laurinburg. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 35 years, Jerry Baker; son Jeremy Baker and wife Syrrah of Laurinburg; daughter Justina Butler and husband Bradley of Laurel Hill; sister Rubi Lynn Deaton and husband Rick of Hawaii; brother Robert "Bobby" Hatchell Jr. of Laurinburg; and granddaughter Masyn Baker, grandson Asher Butler, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a private celebration of life.
