Beverly Marks Obituary
Beverly Marks was born in San Pedro in June, 1932 and passed away in Long Beach in September, 2013 at the age of 81. She graduated from San Pedro High School and University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She enjoyed her career as a Dental Hygienist for 55 years. She is survived by her sister Jeri Wylie; daughters Carrie MacRae (Craig) and Cheryl Hansberry (Dave); and grandsons Steven Hansberry and Mark Hansberry. Beverly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, tap dancing, and her involvement in local organizations. She was proud to be a member of the Long Beach Ski Club, Alamitos Bay Yacht Club, Assistance League of Long Beach, PEO, Dental Hygienist Society, Los Altos United Church of Christ and Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She enjoyed serving as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for both her daughters, and her volunteer work for the Assistance League Thrift Shop and Long Beach Dental Clinic. Beverly will be warmly remembered as a very king and giving lady, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested as follows: SPCALA (Society for the Prevention of cruelty to Animals), spcala.com or 5026 West Jefferson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016 or Girl Scouts Long Beach, 4040 N. Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90808. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 19th, at Los Altos United Church of Christ, 5550 Atherton St., Long Beach.

Beverly and I always struggled skiing together on many Ski Club trips but always got down the hill somehow. Those were fond memories.
