Fuli Lemusu Obituary

Fuli Vimoto Lemusu 1964-2008 Fuli went home to be with his Heavenly Father at the age of 44. He was born in Masausi, American Samoa to Vimoto Lemusu and Lagi. He was raised in American Samoa by his father Vimoto and stepmother Malae Fuimaono. At the age of 13, he moved to California and later graduated from Dominguez High School in Compton, CA. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kavaneni Pe'a Lemusu of Salem, OR; children, Benson Tupua (22) of Beaverton, OR, Zenock Fuli (9) of Salem, OR, Rain Kavaneni (1 1/2) of Salem, OR, and Zion Olataga (deceased); siblings, Fagatele Fuimaono (Samoa), Malouamaua Fuimaono (Samoa), Asugaava Fuimaono (Samoa); and sister, Eletine Fuimaono. Fuli married Kavaneni in October, 1985 and lived in Santa Ana, CA until their move to Salem, OR in 1988. Fuli was a fisherman in Alaska for the last 10 years. He was well known as a hard worker and very reliable. He was very strong, fast and efficient as a worke r and many captains vied to have Fuli onboard with them. Fuli enjoyed sports. He was a San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Lakers fanatic! He loved playing basketball and had a MEAN 3 point shot! He loved music and enjoyed listening to Samoan music and Motown oldies. He also enjoyed poker and pool nights with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching movies and was a great customer at the local video shop. When he was on a break from the fishing boats, he loved to spend time with his family. His favorite food was Kentucky Fried Chicken and he was their #1 customer. Fuli will be remembered as a loving and hard working man who always put his family first. He took great pride in his work and loved to provide for his family. Private family viewing will be held on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Keizer Funeral Chapel, Keizer, OR. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the LDS Chapel, 1375 Lockhavenh, N. Keizer, OR 97303. Keizer Funeral Chapel (503) 393-7037

I am Neni Lemusu's cousin and I am grateful to all her wonderful friends and co-workers at PCL. Your acts of kindness, generosity and compassionate service to Neni and her children will never be forgotten. I thank you! To all our aiga, the Pe'a's, Manu's, Tapusoa's, Lemusu's and Fuimaono's, thank you for your love and support to Neni and her children.
