James Adams Obituary

James Adams James H. Adams, 86, passed away at home in Hemet, CA on November 24, 2010. Jim was born in Stockton, CA on June 12, 1924. Previous to living in Hemet for the last year, he has lived in Phoenix, AZ for 15 years, Bellflower, CA for 10 years and Long Beach for 11 years. Jim worked as a longshoreman and later as a foreman in Long Beach and the LA harbors for 44 years. Jim was a proud member of the ILWU, the USS Lexington CV-2 Minuteman Club, the Bellflower Elks Club, the RAMS Car Club, the American Legion in Glendale, AZ and the Lua Kanaka Hawaiian Club in Arizona. Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth Adams. He is also survived by his daughters, Kitty Bradshaw, Linda Hardin, Christine Robbins and Cyndee Coots; son Jay Adams; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Adams. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 30, 2010, from 1-5 p.m. at Evans Brown Sun City Mortuary Chapel, 27010 Encanto Drive, Sun City, CA 92585. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010, 12 p.m. at the same location. Committal services with military honors will be Monday, December 6, 2010, 10:15 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92513.
