Kurtis Colamonico Obituary

August 11, 1984 - August 21, 2022 Kurtis was born August 11, 1984 in Long Beach, CA to parents Tim Colamonico and Lori Colamonico Kline. He grew up in and around Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Lakewood and Anaheim. He passed away on August 21, 2022, just after his 38th birthday. He leaves behind his son Kruz, his parents, step-parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Kurtis was an athletic kid, and was good at anything he tried. His passion in life was skateboarding, starting at the young age of 3. He quickly progressed and became a professional skateboarder at the age of 22. At age 27 he became a father and gained a new love and passion - his son Kruz, who he loved more than anything. When Kruz was old enough, Kurtis taught him how to skateboard. He was extremely proud that his son also enjoyed skateboarding at a young age, and Kurtis absolutely loved sharing that experience with him. This led him to start his own business, Skate Kids, where Kurtis would give skateboarding lessons to children. He was enthusiastic to pass on his love of skateboarding to the next generation while building confidence and encouraging kids to "never give up." Kurtis was a wonderful and caring person who touched the lives of those around him. He took pleasure helping others and giving words of encouragement to friends and strangers. He met and inspired people from all walks of life, and was a role model to many. Kurtis dedicated his life to God, his son Kruz, his family, skateboarding, Long Beach, and teaching skateboarding to the future generation. He will be greatly missed.
