Robert E. Hurd

Robert E. Hurd 1959 - 2011 Bob Hurd passed away July 4, 2011 at the age of 51. He is survived by his three children: Tasha, Sean and Chaz; granddaughter, Maile; two brothers and two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was born and raised in Long Beach and spent most of his life in various communities along the Southern California coast. He loved the ocean and was a fine surfer. He was a fun-loving, gregarious and social person who had friends of all ages and from all walks of life. Bob had a contagious sense of humor, and he viewed life through the prism of his humor. A simple recounting of his daily experiences often turned into a hilarious tale. Usually the life of the party, people loved being around Bob and Bob loved being around people. A paddle-out ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on July 30 at the Seal Beach Jetty. Later in the day at 2:00 p.m. a gathering in his honor will be held where Bob grew up at 3715 Cedar Ave. in Long Beach. Any friend of Bob's is welcome to attend.
