Abel Chavez Obituary

Abel Chavez passed away on Sept. 4, 2012. He was born Aug. 12, 1934 to Abel C. Chazez and Rosa Chavez. He is survived by his wife Collette Chavez, sons Christopher and Paul, daughter Erin Chavez, daughter-in-law Michelle Chavez, and precious grandson Ryan Chavez. Siblings John J. Chavez and sister Connie Singleton. He is preceded in death by Robert. Abel was respected and loved by many and will be sorely missed. He had careers as owner and manager of a title company in T or C, career with NASA and finally retired as a copy manager from NMSU. He was a member and frequent sight at the Newman Center for many years and cherished his faith. God Bless Abe Chavez. Funeral mass will be at the Newman Center 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012.

Words cannot express how we will miss "our little man". He was truly an inspiration to all who knew him. Now he is safely in God's hands so Abe, "until we meet again"!

Abe, we will surely miss you. You were a great guy, especially to all those at the Newman Center Lunch Brunch. We loved you but the Good Lord loves you more and took you home. Sympathies to Colette and relatives.

Colette, Chris, Erin and Paul. Just wanted you all to know we are thinking of you guys. I was so sad to hear of Abe's passing. I know mom has already taken him under her wing and is ordering him around! Take care of yourselves and know he was loved by all of us who knew him! I will always cherish the memories of growing up surrounded by his humor! Love to you all!
