Armando Jasso Obituary

Armando Jasso, 67, angel of love, went to peaceful rest on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family and many who loved him. An avid 49ers fan and military veteran, "Hippie" or "Ironman," as he was fondly known, was born Oct. 27, 1946, to Adan Jordan Jasso and Marina Jasso. Blessed with a big, compassionate heart and a strong faith that helped sustain him, Armando remained a compassionate man, a faithful husband, a loving father, a protective brother, a caring grandfather, and a great friend until his last breath. "Ironman," as you join Mom, Dad, and your beloved son, Jorge, in God's Glory, you leave many who love you and will miss you. We thank God for the beautiful gift of you and rejoice in having shared your life, for we know this is not goodbye – merely a short separation until we receive God's blessing and we see each other again. We will love you forever. You remain in our memories and our hearts always. Survivors include his loving wife, Esther Jasso, of the family home; five sons, Raul, Carlos Alberto and Abel Jasso, all of Mexico, and Armando Jr. and Miguel Angel Jasso of Las Cruces; four grandchildren he raised as his own children, Jasmine Marie, Bryanna Nicole, Joseph Adan and Alexis Samantha Jasso; four brothers, Victor Jasso Sr. of Albuquerque, and Raul and Victor Jasso Jr., both of Las Cruces, Adan Jasso of Phoenix; two sisters, Sylvia Jasso Diaz and Merced Jasso, both of Las Cruces. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, as well as numerous other family who love him from Mexico, Texas and California. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Mr. Jasso will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 in the Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3600 Parroquia St., with the Revs. Vincent Petersen and Tom Smith officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Ave., where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Gilberto Diaz, Victor Jr., Joseph, Raul and Michael Jasso, and Obdulio Perez. Honorary bearers will be Keath and Harley Jasso.
