Benjamin Myrick Obituary

Benjamin Myrick Jr., 77, a resident of Deming and a former resident of Angleton, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at his home.
A memorial service will begin today, Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 2 p.m at Holy Family Catholic Church, 615 S. Copper in Deming. The Rev. Joshe Duplissey will officiate.
Benjamin, the son of Benjamin Myrick Sr. and Pearl Jordan, was born September 14, 1931, in Newport News, Virginia. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 21 years of active service, and he then retired from the State of Texas Department of Corrections after 20 years. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruiz Myrick of Deming, and 9 sons: Benjamin (Mary) Mendoza of Tucson, Ariz., Benjamin (Constance) Myrick III of Las Cruces, Octavio (Leonora) Mendoza of Deming, Alex (Sonny) Mendoza of Chesapeake, Md., Jerome Myrick of Washington D.C., Jesse Glenn (Kimbra) Myrick of Tucson, Raymond (Valerie) Myrick of Angleton, Texas, John (Theresa) Myrick of Kingsville, Texas, and Larry (Christine) Mendoza of Angleton, Texas. Two daughters: Theresa "Pearl" (Darrel) Shefstad of Marysville, Wash., and Molly (Tony) Patterson of Washington, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Frank Ruiz of Tucson, a sister-in-law; Emma Peyton of Tucson, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
