Carlos Urrutia Obituary

Carlos Phillip Urrutia, 50, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, formerly of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, at MountainView Hospital.

Carlos was born to Valentin Urrutia and Felipa Villarreal on Oct. 6, 1964, in Lockhart. Carlos enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking meals for them and most of all he loved being a craftsman. When Carlos became ill and could no longer drive a forklift, he enjoyed making things out of wood. He made things like chairs for his grandkids, cartoon characters, a well for his front yard and many other things for his family.

Carlos is survived by his wife, Irma Otero-Urrutia, of Las Cruces; children, Carlos Phillip Urrutia Jr. of Lockhart, Daniel and his wife, Yasmine Urrutia, of Las Cruces, Ashley Urrutia of Lockhart, Victoris Wilhelm of Lockhart, Lorenzo and wife, Rebecca Reyes, of Las Cruces, Juan Carlos Reyes of Las Cruces, Michael Reyes of Las Cruces; grandchildren, Liliana Urrutia, Aiyana Urrutia, Jayleen Urrutia, Noah Shantel, Kaylin Urrutia, Jeremiah Urrutia, Angelina Rangel, TommyLuciano Reyes, AnthonyCapone Reyes, DominicMartine Reyes, VivianaEliz Reyes, JordynAlyssa Reyes, Hector Martines, Isabella Reyes and two more grandkids still in the belly. He is also survived by mother, Felipa Villarreal, of Lockhart; sister Rosalina Urrutia of Lockhart; brothers, Valentine Urrutia Jr. of San Marcos, Texas, Jaimes Urrutia of Kyle, Texas; stepsister, Crystal and husband, Fernando Flores, of Maxwell, Texas; stepbrother Luis Villarreal of San Marcos, Texas; and six nephews and 11 nieces. Carlos will be greeted at the heavens gates by his father, Valentine Urrutia, and stepfather Luis Villarreal.

Services for Carlos will be held at La Paz Grahams Funeral Home, 555 W. Amador, Las Cruces. Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. today, March 6, 2015. Church services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015.
