Gilbert was my first "best friend" growing up in Las Cruces. My family lived in a small apartment on Tronillo Steet. Close by lived Gilbert on Hadley Street. We attended each others birthday parties, play kick-the-can, marbles, and hide-and-go-seek. Along with Pat Barela we were the Three Muskateers. One of my greatest treats was to be invited over to watch the Mickey Mouse Club. I think his family had the only TV in the neighborhood. After my family moved to our Bellamah house we didn't see much of each other. My prayer is that his immediate family find comfort in the beautiful memories he has left with you. Once in awhile I will drive by his house and remember how happy I was when I got to play with him. Gilbert knew me as Bobby.God Bless you.
