Guadalupe Arzate

Guadalupe "Lupe" Prieto Arzate, age 74, of Las Cruces and formerly of Deming was born December 12, 1938 in Palomas, Chihihuahua, Mexico, died peacefully in her sleep on June 11, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Lupe is survived by her loving husband, Ernesto Arzate; daughters, Gloriana A. Ortiz, Maria Lupe A. Soto, and son, Ernest Arzate. Seven grandchildren, Reymundo Carlo Molina, Carolina Molina, Daniel Ortiz, Gabriel Ortiz, Quetzal Soto, Xizel Soto and Nicolas Austen Arzate as well as two great- grandchildren, Logan Gabriel Ortiz and Malea Danielle Ortiz. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosa Olivia Arzate Molina. Lupe will be remembered as a person who enjoyed dancing, visiting with others and enjoyed the presence of family and friends. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 in the West Chapel of Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the rosary is scheduled for 10 a.m. and the funeral service to begin immediately thereafter with the Reverend Don Adamski officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Deming where she will lay to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Raul, Daniel and Gabriel Ortiz, Ernest Arzate, Reymundo Carlo Molino and Ernesto Prieto.
