Janis Newman Obituary
Janis was born on April 11, 1946 in El Paso and grew up in Blythe, CA where she graduated from Palo Verde High School. She graduated from ASU and was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She spent several years in her beloved Hawaii where she met and married George Newman.
In 1984 she and George moved back to Las Cruces and established Taylor Newman Associates advertising agency and subsequently owned and operated Guacamole's in Fairacres. Janis and George were very involved in the Las Cruces community and their many contributions will be remembered for many years.
Janis leaves behind her mother and best friend Virginia Taylor, as well as her devoted brother David Taylor (wife Linda), her loving nephew Scott Taylor (Brooke) and family, and her loving niece Lindsay Belanich and family, and well as her many cousins.
She was preceeded in death by her loving husband George and her dear father Ivan Scott Taylor.
Janis was a kind and loving person and will be sorely missed by her family, her many friends and the many other people she touched.
The family would like to thank our friends Dr. William Baker and Susan Baker who have been with us through this long journey. We would also like to thank the staff of Mountain View Medical Center for their help and compassion.
There will be a Memorial Service for Janis Ellen Taylor Newman on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Getz Funeral Home at 10:00am. To sign the online register book please visit www.getzcares.com. Services are being held by Getz Funeral Home.

Rest in Peace Janis. I enjoyed my time working at Guacamoles and was so glad we were always able to catch up when I ran into you at Sam's. God Bless your family during this difficult time. My deepest condolences to the Taylor family.
