Jo Nell Weathers

Jo Nell Weathers, 71, of Rincon, joined our Lord on Wednesday, April 23. She was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Monahans, Texas, to William "Pappy" and Lucille Franklin. Jo was one of eight children. The town of Hatch and the surrounding communities became Jo's final home and she treated friend and stranger as family in her many business endeavors, such as her restaurants, the Pizza King, Jo's Café, the Pepper Pot and then the flower/gift shop she shared with sisters Rue Berta Allen and Norma Jeannene Tudor. She had a great love of gardening and the outdoors and continued to draft landscape designs to her last days.
Jo is survived by one son, Lee Weathers of Rincon; two daughters, Charron and husband ,Kenny Gillespie, of Hatch; Misty and husband, Many Alanizm, of Las Cruces; three sisters, Rue Berta and husband, Wilfred Allen, of Hatch; Helen Hendrix of Salem; La Vonda and husband, Terry Preuit, of Las Cruces; and brother, Jimmy Franklin and wife, Beverly, of Rincon. Eight grandchildren, Brianna, Chelsey, Garrett Gillespie, Reece, Graizon, Alyiah Alaniz, Layne and Tristen Weathers; and one great-grandchild, Nathaniel Alexander, also survive Jo. Jo Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Weathers, in 2006; her parents, "Pappy" and Lucille Franklin; brother, Freddy Franklin; and sisters, Donna Kay Patton and Norma Jeannene Tudor.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at Getz Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch with Bryan Sims officiating.
