Joe Holguin

Our hearts are saddened as we share the loss of our loved one. Joe passed away Jan. 16, 2016, in Irving, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born Feb. 15, 1941, in Vinton, Texas, and was a resident of Anthony, Texas, Las Cruces and Arenas Valley, New Mexico. He owned Arenas Valley Produce and retired from Phelps Dodge as a crane operator. He later moved to Lewisville, Texas, where he worked and retired from the city of Lewisville as a crew leader for the Parks Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, music, Cowboys football, visiting casinos, and playing bingo.

He is survived by his three sons, Joe Holguin and girlfriend, Annette, of Las Cruces, Gary Holguin and wife, Shirley, of Las Cruces, and Edward Holguin and wife, Bernadette, of Lewisville; and his grandchildren, Raymond Holguin of Las Cruces, Jake Holguin of San Francisco, Josh and Vanessa of Las Cruces, and Analicia and Samantha Holguin of Lewisville; and his brother George Holguin and wife, Clara, of Washington, D.C.

He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Holguin, father Lorenzo Holguin, mother Clotilde Holguin, brother Lorenzo Holguin, and grandson Adrian Holguin.

Cremation has taken place by Dalton Funeral Homes in Lewisville. Recitation of the rosary and a memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, in St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina, in Las Cruces. He will reach his final resting place alongside his wife, Minnie, with inurnment of his cremains to follow in St. Genevieve Columbarium.
