Jose Ismael Chavez R., passed away on Friday August 12, 2016 at the age of 33. He died while in the line of duty where he served the Village of Hatch NM for the last 2 years. Ismael was born on December 17, 1982 in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, MX to Maria Ramirez and Jose Chavez. Ismael completed his Associates degree in Criminal Justice at NMSU where he was currently pursuing his Bachelors degree. Ismael was a jack of all trades; he loved learning and was always curious to know how everything worked. He was an intelligent, ambitious, hardworking, fun loving guy. His passion was his job; he cared about protecting his community. He will be remembered as a kind, patient man that valued family above all else. Ismael never gave up; he always saw the positive side of every situation. He was an extraordinary father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Ismael is survived by his parents Maria Ramirez and Jose Chavez; his daughters Janiley and Aryam Chavez; his sisters Patricia Ramirez and Lupita Chavez; nieces, nephews, many dear friends.
The Funeral Procession for Officer Chavez will begin in Hatch and will arrive at the Pan American Center 1810 E. University Ave. for the Funeral Service scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2015. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m.
