La Var Washington

Loving Father, Husband, Son, Friend, and Businessman, La Var (LV) Terrell Washington 32, of Las Cruces, NM went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday May 14, 2012. He was born to Rena Washington on May 13, 1980 in Las Cruces, NM. La Var was an alum of Oñate High School, attended NMSU, and the proud owner and operator of Chicago Southwest Street Grill bringing smiles and full tummies to all that entered its doors. He was a member of the Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and business after hours. He enjoyed reading the Bible, dancing, writing, working-out and recently took up bicycling. La Var's true love and passion in life was his children. He would take them to the park, coach their soccer teams, relaxing with them playing video games, movie night and make pancakes for them on Sunday mornings. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of the day. La Var is survived by his loving wife Sylvia Washington of the family home, sons, La Var Terrell Washington II and Avante Washington both of Las Cruces, NM, daughters Mckaylie Washington and Dominique Washington both of Las Cruces, NM, mother Rena Washington of Las Cruces, NM, Grandmother Ernestine Washington of Las Cruces,NM, sister Kesha Washington and brother Renal Washington both of Las Cruces, NM and many friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 21, 2012 from 4pm-6pm, with a funeral service to follow at 6pm at Getz Funeral Home.
