Paul Gary Lagerfeld

Paul Gary Lagerfeld, age 68, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Tuesday, June 15, 2013 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice. He was born May 18, 1945 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Herbert O. and Lorraine Hooper Lagerfeld. Paul served his country honorably in the United States Air Fore where he was decorated with the Good Conduct Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, and Humanitarian Service Medals, Air Force Longevity Service Award Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Air Force Commendation Medal. Paul retired in May 1984 as a Tech Sergeant after 21 years of service. Paul had the opportunity in life to drive through forty-eight states and also the Proveniences of Canada. He traveled throughout the world in places like Vietnam, Thailand, Alaska and many different other countries. He loved to cook and bake for his family and friends, skills her learned mostly from his parents and enjoyed playing golf with his friends. Those left to mourn his passing include his loving mother, Lorraine Lagerfeld, his sister, Lorreta Freitas, and husband Doug; daughter Nannette Roza; son, Isaac Lagerfeld and wife Darlene, a niece and two nephews and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Lagerfeld; his stepmother, Lillian Lagerfeld. A Funeral Service is will be held at 4 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in Baca's Chapels of Prayer 300 E. Boutz Road with Reverend Don Adamski officiating. Military honors will be accorded by a Holloman Air Force Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League - El Perro Diablo Detachment. At his request cremation will follow and Inurnment of Cremains will take place at a later date in Hawaii. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations in his memory be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 E.
