Norene Titus Obituary

Norene E. Titus, 77, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in Rio Rancho, N.M.

Graveside service: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Amor Home Health Care, 1768 Hudson River Road, Rio Rancho, N.M. 87144.

Norene E. Titus was born April 30, 1926, in Fort Worth. She resided in Fort Worth for many years and moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 1983. She was a contract negotiator for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and retired after 30 years of service. She also had served on former Congressman Jim Wright's staff.

Norene was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Joseph Benson Titus.

Survivors: Sisters, Mary G. White of Albuquerque, Doris A. Adamson of Granite Shoals, Kay Sorrels of Albuquerque; brothers, Harold H. Rumph of Delray Beach, Fla., Charles W. Rumph of Washington, D.C., Ben F. Rumph of Golden, Colo. and David M. Rumph of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

I began my career with the Corps just out of high school. Norene was one of the many people I worked with. She had also become one of my favorite people. When I think of her I am reminded of her turtle collection. And I smile. She was a very kind and loving woman. God Bless her.
