Ramona Garcia Rivera Obituary

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, special aunt and dear friend, RAMONA "MONCHI" GARCIA RIVERA, age 75, of Las Cruces passed from this life on Friday, June 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 18, 1942 in Mesilla to Ignacia Aguirre and Albert Garcia. "Monchi", as she was fondly known to family and friends retired from Sears, after thirty-nine years of retail service and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Those left to mourn her passing include her loving husband of twelve years, Ricardo M. Rivera of the family home; a daughter, Laura De Vargas of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Isidro Garcia (Eva) and two sisters, Delia Narvaez all of Las Cruces and Esperanza Merk of Cleveland, OH. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. Monchi was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Petra Garcia Rivera, and brother, Frankie Garcia.
At her request cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 PM, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda Street. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, June 23, 2018 in the same church with the Reverend Richard Catanach, Celebrant. Inurnment of Cremains will take place at a later date.
