Ronald Pincomb Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Archer Pincomb Jr., 55, passed away peacefully at his home with his beloved wife, Cecilia "Cissy" Lujan-Pincomb, and cherished daughters, Melissa and Lauren Pincomb, on July 13, 200,9 after his courageous battle with brain cancer. Ron was born June 24, 1954, in Pontiac, Mich., to Ronald and Lu Pincomb Sr.

Ron was the logistics supervisor at the NASA White Sands Test Facility, where he enjoyed being part of America's space program. He was a loving father, husband, son, and loyal friend. As the eternal optimist, he saw the glass neither half full nor half empty but always full. He was the master of turning any negative conversation into a positive one. He was known for his easy, calm demeanor, that constant smile and quick wit. He lived life to the fullest never wasting a minute, almost as if he wanted to get in 100 years of life in 50. He lived for his family, not out of obligation, but out of love. He was happiest when he was with his wife and daughters, and when he was hunting, fishing or camping. He rode his bicycle 20 miles three times a week, jeeped, rode motorcycles, had a pilot's license, made custom knives, and those who knew him knew he could not go without his daily ice cream fix. He was unselfish and always willing to help anyone in need. There are not enough words to describe how great a man he was.

He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia, of 30 years; two daughters, Melissa Ruth Lujan Pincomb and Lauren Elise Lujan Pincomb, of Las Cruces; his father, Ronald Pincomb Sr., of Las Cruces; three sisters, Suzanne Triviz-Harrigan (husband-Phil) of Silver City, N.M., Lauri Wilson (husband-Nathan) of Nashville, Tenn., Sandy Ruttle (husband-Jeff )of Las Cruces; brother, Reid Pincomb (wife-Margaret) of Madison, Ala.; and in-laws, Ruth, Sam, Anthony, and Jimmy Lujan and Margaret Lujan-Sinclair (husband-John) of Albuquerque, N.M. Also surviving Ron are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lu Pincomb, and his father-in-law, Bonifacio Lujan. Special thanks to Dr. Constance Wash and her staff and the Mesilla Valley Hospice.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate his life are at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Getz Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Ron Pincomb's daughters' college fund c/o Wells Fargo Bank.

Cissy,
I was not able to attend the services but wanted to convey my heartfelt sympathy on your loss of Ron. I am so glad my father was able to attend as he represented both of us. In reading about Ron, I could tell of his special qualities as a husband, father and friend. I saw you as a family coming in for IEP's at Sierra and it was obvious how involved he was with his girls.
My thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be focused on you and your girls as you deal with the loss of your husband.

Cissy, Melissa, and Lauren,
Thank you for the beautiful service in commemoration of Ron.Your stories and letters touched me deeply.
I never really talked to him much because he was always focused on "his girls". But the one thing that comes to my mind any time I think of Ron is his bright smile.
My thoughts and prayers go with you during the next few weeks and years as you keep Ron's memory close.

To the Pincomb Family, I was a friend of Laurens in Middle School and High School. Mr. Pincomb, or Pappi as we called him, was a fun chaperone, awesome mentor and great man overall. I will greatly miss him. I wish you all the best during this time. (Tiffini Trujillo)

Pinky (Lauren), I'm sorry to hear about Pappi. He will be greatly missed. Just remember all the good times you had with him, like when he was our chaperone and you let me call him Pappi. Thank you for letting me know your dad. He will always be watching you and I'm sure he'll be very proud. Best Wishes Pinky. Love you. Tiff

Dear Cissy & girls....

I'm really sorry to hear about Ron. Although I did not know you personally, I worked with Ron (your daddy) on many occasions at White Sands over the past 8 years. I know you must have hoped for more time to spend with him, but the time you did spend with him meant so much to him. He loved you very much and always spoke of you with a sparkle in his eyes. Your dad will always be with you; his spirit and good will be part of you no matter where you go. My condolences to you also Sandy Ruttle. I also experienced the loss of my brother at age 54 in 2006. God gives us examples on this earth of how we should live our lives and Ron was one of the best examples I know.
