Sean Fischer Obituary

Sean (Seanie, Seanathan, Seanster, Seangowango) was called to eternal rest by our heavenly father on January 18, 2010 at the young age of 36. Sean was born in Las Cruces, N.M. on Christmas Eve of 1973 to William and Marie Fischer. It was a privilege to have known such a kind and giving soul. Sean had sincerity about him and this world will not be the same without his presence. He always knew how to make you smile and laugh and he always had a joke to tell (even if it was corny) and let's not forget all his hilarious voice impressions. He had lots of love to share with everyone, especially with kids. His godchildren and nieces and nephews were truly his pride and joy. He even turned a few into Cub fans who he called his little Cubbies. Sean favorite pass time was watching the Cubs play baseball. To say he was a fan would be an understatement. Sean dedicated a room in his home just for his memorabilia. It was priceless to see the happiness that overcame Sean when the Cubs would win and it will forever be memorable hearing Sean sing the 7th inning stretch (take me out to the ball game). Sean taught the song to many children.

One of the highlights of his life was when he went to Wrigley Field to watch a live game. The moment he stepped into the front gates, he got down on his knees and put his hands up in the air and yelled, "I'm here!" He then insisted he wanted a legendary Chicago hotdog. Sean was also a fan of Jeopardy-nobody had a chance at beating him. He also loved jamming to all types of music particularly rock. Sean served in U.S. Army, in which he hoped to fulfill a military career.

Unfortunately, due to a medical injury, his dream was short lived and he was honorably discharged. Sean graduated and earned a Mechanist Apprentice degree and enjoyed a career as a machinist.

Sean is survived by his wife Ernestina (Tina) Vigil-Fischer of 14 years, of Las Cruces, his parents William (Bill) and Marie Fischer, of Las Cruces, his in-laws, Ramon and Nellie Rigales-Vigil of Las Cruces, his brother Mark and wife Deborah Fischer, nephews Brandon, and Jaden and niece Lauren (LaLa) of El Paso, Sister Michelle Fischer-Hoffman and Husband John Hoffman of Rio Rancho, his brother-in-law Ramon ( Mon) Vigil,Jr, and niece Jocelin R. Vigil ( Grasshopper ) of Las Cruces, his brother-in-law, Santiago (James) Vigil and nephew Jeremiah H. Vigil (J-Dog) of Las Cruces, his Godparents Daniel and Virginia Check, of Las Cruces, his godchildren in which he loved and cherished dearly, Daniel Diaz,Jr (Baby D) Marcos Diaz (Phatboy), Nathan Grinde (Nate Dog), JeriAnn Grinde (Boo), Ruby, Raelea, Reannan Humphreys-Acuna. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved sincerely. Throughout Sean's life he made countless friends that became his special family. Let's not forget his special pets, Gypsy, Madeline, Cali, and Squirrel. Sean was preceded in death by his brother, David Anthony Fischer. Sean, we will all feel your warm embrace again and our souls will re-unite. It was a blessing to have you in our lives and you will be forever be missed greatly. We can't wait to hear your jokes again someday, but until then we will fill the void with your memory. "It broke our heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home." We love you Sean!!
