1985 - 2018

SUNNY SANTIAGO "JIMMY" ROMAN, JR., passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in Las Cruces at the age of 32. "Jimmy", as he was fondly known to family and friends, was born October 5, 1985 to Norma Jean Hernandez and Sunny Santiago Roman, Sr. He was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything.
Jimmy was raised by his maternal grandparents, David and Maria Avalos; also survived by his son, Julio Roman-Hernandez, and his unborn daughter, Sunny Rose Marie Roman with his significant other, Sherry, all of the family home. Other survivors include a sister, Stephanie Garay (Junior); his paternal grandmother, Amelia Roman, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Hernandez on August 26, 2018; uncle, Jeff Hernandez; maternal great-grandparents and his paternal grandfather, Marcos Roman.
Visitation for Jimmy will begin at 6 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Baca's Funeral Chapel 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM Thursday, October 25, 2018 in the same chapel with the Chaplain Jeff Turkot officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road where he will be laid to rest alongside his brother, Raymond, in the family plot.
Serving as casket bearers will be Julio, Tony, Matthew and Chris Hernandez, Christian and Aaron Klima, Maria Sanchez and Adrian Aguilera.
