Tammy Armstrong Obituary

Tammy Lynn Beasley Armstrong went to be with the Lord Thursday January 7, 2021 after fighting a heart condition (IHSS) she was diagnosed with at age 16. She was born September 5, 1961 at Providence Memorial in El Paso, TX to parents Mary Carolyn Pruitt Beasley and Jack Felder Beasley. Tammy and her husband Mike lived in Chama, NM for the past 13 years before previously residing in Las Cruces, NM. She grew up in Flagstaff, AZ and El Paso, having attended Eastwood High School. As a young teen she loved working on her Volkswagen with her dad. They could drop the engine, fix it and have it back running in 30 minutes. She was also incredibly ornery and earned herself the nickname Tornado Tam and later DamnTam. After high school she worked at El Paso Natural Gas. She and Mike married November 6, 1982 and she became stepmom to Jerret and Judi, who both adored her and loved her as their own mother. Mike and Tammy lived in Colorado Springs and Santa Fe before settling in Las Cruces where she worked at Mutual Building and Loan. When they moved to Chama she opened up several businesses, but the one she was most excited to get going was Heartfelt Creations. In her eyes her greatest accomplishments were becoming a hot air balloon pilot and designing, contracting and building her own house, which she loved. She was talented, smart, loving, kind and family oriented. She helped everyone she could and was the very definition of unconditional love. She loved ballooning and the large group of friends they spent so many beautiful mornings up in the air with. She enjoyed hanging out with her best friend/ partner in crime/ sister Colleen and she especially loved spending time with her loving husband/ best friend/ "buddy" Mike, her kids, her grandkids, and her dogs. She was the best grandmother to her grandkids and leaves behind memories they will cherish forever. She spent time with them fishing, playing games, working puzzles, baking, crafting and just getting in the floor to be with and play with them. She spoiled each one with gifts and so much love- soaking up every minute with them. We will all miss her laugh and beautiful smile, her generosity and her love for getting people together for parties, her long phone conversations, and her love for holidays and for making others feel special. She leaves behind holes in our hearts, but so many wonderful memories to remember what a remarkable woman she was. She is survived by her husband Mike, son Jerret Armstrong and wife Dawn, daughter Judi Travis and husband Jesse, granddaughters Ainsley, Emma and Tenley and step grandkids Sarah and Luke, mother Carolyn Beasley, sister Colleen Schulte, brother Jack Felder Beasley II and wife Cathy, nephews Shane Beasley and Chris Beasley, niece Kendal Beasley, and her pups Hunter and Lula. She is preceded in death by her father Jack Felder Beasley and nephew Jacob Ryan Felder Beasley. A private service will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of any flowers, please donate to the Humane Society. She fought hard for many years and now she can rest in His arms. 1 Timothy 6:12
