Lebanon - Betty J. Funk, 89, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at The Lebanon Valley Home, Annville.

She was the wife of Walter J. Funk, to whom she was married 68 years on April 8, 2018.

Born in Jackson Twp., PA on February 25, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Verna (Miller) Yiengst.

A 1947 graduate of Myerstown High School, Betty was a member of United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, Lebanon. She was employed as a secretary at Arthur Funk and Sons, Inc., Lebanon, for 18 years. Betty was also employed at Publix Shirt Company, Myerstown, for four years. She was a charter member and first president of the South Lebanon Lions Club. Betty was a great cook and baker, known for her shoo-fly pies, potato filling, and potato salad. She enjoyed crocheting, making crafts, and traveling, having been to 48 out of 50 states.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Linda, wife of Calvin Nicholson, of Lebanon; a son, Larry Funk, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Meagan Wright, Jared Nicholson, and Bridget Nicholson; a great-grandson, Dylan Nicholson; a sister, Helen, wife of Glen Ginder, of Schaefferstown; a brother, Robert, husband of Margaret Yiengst, of Myerstown; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Richard Yiengst.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 1500 Quentin Rd., Lebanon, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Zion "Goshert's" UCC Cemetery, Lebanon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Lebanon Valley Home, 550 E. Main St., Annville, PA 17003.
