So sorry to hear about Brett's passing. Some of my best working years were spent at the DQ, and Brett was there to share them with me and the rest of the gang in the 80's. Rita, Sue, and Ben - you are in my prayers.

Ben, Sue, Mark and families:
Brett and I shared much more than just a birthday. I am so glad I got to visit him a few years ago during my class re-union. We talked then about skiing together again sometime (he told me of Ben's accident skiing as I recall.) But I will always attribute my love of skiing and golf to my friendship with Brett. They are sports I can still enjoy, and that I actually do better now than when I was a kid, unlike other sports. I do feel so very sad for your loss, for our loss, but Brett added love and spirit to quite a few lives, and I will always be thankful for what he shared with me. I suspect that there will maintain some connection for me with him forever.

We have been coming to the DQ for many years. We will always remember Brett's smiling face and his sense of humor. Even when we would sit down to eat our ice cream, he would come out from behind the counter to talk to us about his vacation trips and all the cars that he was working on and restoring. Our deepest sympathies go out to Rita, Kelsey, and the entire DQ family. We will certainly miss him. RIP Brett - our friend. Luv; Bear and Joan !!

Rita and family - my deepest sympathies to you. Brett was a unique person with the sharpest sense of humor I ever knew. I'm happy that Ray and I had the opportunity to know him. I'd like to think that they are together now, tinkering on some old jalopy somewhere, healthy and carefree!

Our hearts are with you and yours Rita and the entire Shankroff family. Brett holds a special place in my heart as a kind hearted man and boss during my six years working at Dairy Queen East. He loved his family and loved his life, never a dull moment or unhappy face when Brett was in the room. We will always remember how he loved to tell jokes or funny stories and keep everyone entertained with his wit. He will be deeply missed by anyone who had the good fortune of knowing him. Sending much love and prayers.

Brett was such a kind person and he made work so much fun. Kelsey was 4 years old when I started working at DQ. I remember because Brett told me about 100 times a day that he had a 4 year old at home. He adored her. Rita and Kelsey you are in my thoughts.

Sorry so sad I knew Brett from years ago when he drove around lebanon with his motor head car and had a garage off of canal st. At the time my bf was Gurney Eisenhauer and all the car nuts knew each other. After yrs I would still see him at DQ such a nice funny guy! Sending my condolences to the whole family.
