Donald Frances Widger

Donald Frances Widger of Lebanon, Pa., husband of Dottie (Yeager), died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Hershey Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Norristown, Pa., he was the son of the late Sophia Mary (Hankoski) and Thomas Henry Widger. He attended West Pottsgrove High School. As a young man, Donald had many interests. He was a Boy Scout, and an avid fisherman. He raised beagles and enjoyed hunting game. He owned a tree trimming business with his brother. In the 80s, Donald and his wife founded Nittany Gifts, a chain of stores selling licensed Penn State University gifts. He spent the 90s in Florida after selling the business. Donald is retired from Wal-Mart in Lebanon, Pa. Donald is survived by wife, Dottie; three children, Deborah of New York, David of New Hampshire and Donna; two stepchildren, Deane and Melody of Pennsylvania. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. Donald had eight brothers and sisters, Joan Sterner of Pennsylvania, Theodore of Oregon, Charlotte Moon of Arizona, Sophie Schwartz, James, both of Pottstown, Joseph of Virginia, and Patricia of Florida. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Forest; two step-children; and brother Thomas. Services will be held graveside Tuesday, November 25, at 1 on Holy Cross Cemetery Lebanon, Pa.
