Gerald Royer Obituary

Gerald C. Royer BETHEL Gerald C. Royer, 73, of 420 Swope Road, Bethel, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2006, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. Grabe Royer and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 30th. Born in East Hanover Township, he was the son of the late Nelson and Violet Neidich Royer. In 1990 after 33 years, he retired from H.B. Reese, Hershey. He attended the Myerstown Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching television, especially FOX News, his favorite channel. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Wade G., husband of Giovanna Showers Royer of Lebanon; daughters Susan D., wife of Michael McNally of Bethel, and Sally A., wife of Michael Derr of Bethel; a brother Nelson Royer of Lebanon; sisters Dolores Lutz of Fredericksburg and Janice Bobst of Washington Courthouse, Ohio; and grandchildren Christopher A. McNally, Elizabeth A. Royer and Bradley M. Derr, and his great-grandson Michael B. McNally. He was preceded in death by a brother Barry Royer. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, East Hanover Township. www.sklfuneralhome.com
