Joseph Lehman Obituary

HERSHEY Joseph George Lehman, 86, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Sara S. (Haldeman) Lehman. They would have been married for 66 years on June 23, 2011. Born in Conewago Twp., he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Alma (Brandt) Lehman. Mr. Lehman was a member of Temple Bible Church at Shenk's (formerly Shenk's Community Church) in Elizabethtown. He was employed by the Hershey Co. for over 30 years in farming and plumbing, and retired from the compressor room at the factory. He enjoyed cameras, photography, and mowing his lawn. In addition to his wife, Sara, he is survived by his children, Samuel E., husband of Sandra Lehman of Columbus, Ohio, Miriam E., wife of Roland Martel of Wyoming, Mich., Barbara J., wife of Edward Seibert, Jr. of Hershey, and Robert F. Lehman of Lititz; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Mary Kauffman of Kansas, Naomi, wife of Jacob Engle of Marietta, Anna Lehman of Hershey, Grace, wife of Irvin Engle of Mount Joy, and Luella, wife of Anthony Jardine of Virginia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Kanode. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at Temple Bible Church at Shenk's, 5880 Schoolhouse Road, Elizabethtown, 17022 at 10 a.m. Friends may call on Wednesday evening at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church; or Bethesda Mission, 2101 N. Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
