Lloyd Early Obituary

Lloyd R. Early CORNWALL Lloyd Raymond Early, 82, Cornwall Manor, Cornwall, formerly of S. Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon passed away surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday evening, December 3, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Born on January 30, 1931, in Quentin, he was the son of the late John and Katie Amanda Houser Early. He was married to Margaret Louise "Peg" Boyer Early who preceded him in death in October 2000. Lloyd graduated from Cornwall High School in 1948. He was a dairy farmer and feed salesman, retiring from Agway in 2012. He was also employed by Mark C. Hershey Farms, cut grass at the Lebanon Expo Center for 40 years and had delivered Lebanon County Tourism Booklets. He was a member of Cornwall United Methodist Church, where he was a Trustee, an Administrative Board member,head usher and drove the church bus. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM, Lebanon and Harrisburg Consistory. He was also a member of the Lebanon County Expo Center and the Myerstown Grundsow Lodge. Lloyd was also known for mentoring young farmers. He loved to restore old vehicles and tractors. He enjoyed officiating at tractor pulls and demo derbies up until last year. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed by family and all who knew him. He is survived by daughters, Kathy E., wife of Stephen Yingst, Hummelstown, Judith A., wife of Claud Lentz, Lebanon; grandchildren, Lindsey and Ryan Yingst, Eric Lentz, and Jessica Englesbe; three great-grandchildren; and companion, Phyllis Repasch. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Early. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lloyd's funeral service on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. from Cornwall United Methodist Church, Cornwall Pike & Alden Street, Cornwall, with the Rev. James Heathand and the Rev. Glen Esler officiating. A viewing will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Drive (next to Quentin Circle), Lebanon, and on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Private family casket burial will be made in Cornwall Cemetery. Masonic services will be held by Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made in Lloyd's memory to Cornwall UM Church, Cornwall Pike & Alden Street, Cornwall, PA 17016; or Hospice of the GSH, 4th& Walnut Street, Lebanon, PA 17042. I only new of LLoyd from my twenty years of running demolition derbies at the Buck, but he will surely be missed. He was always a fair judge as an official and a good guy. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.
