Marsha Wildasin Obituary

SKOKIE, IL Marsha R. Wildasin, 59, formerly of Cleona, died peacefully on September 21, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Marsha was born in Lebanon, on January 24, 1953. After graduating from Cedar Crest High School in 1971, Marsha's adventurous spirit led her and 3 friends to devote several years to traveling through New England and Canada. The beauty of Vermont matched the beauty of Marsha's soul and she called Vermont her home for many years, during which Marsha earned a bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Vermont. During the last 15 years, Marsha enjoyed life with her long-time partner, Dr. Michael Glade. They settled in Skokie, IL., where Marsha worked as the Midwest representative of a Pittsburgh-based nutrition company and was an avid gardener, bird-watcher, butterfly enthusiast, art lover and outdoorswoman. Marsha and Mike traveled extensively within the U.S. and in Hawaii, Mexico and Europe. Marsha volunteered her time and talents to a number of charitable organizations and especially loved her work with the Cancer Wellness Center. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Sadie Bucks; paternal grandmother, Helen Wentling; father, Richard Wildasin; uncle Lester Bucks; aunt Cathyrn Turner; and grandnewphew, Robbie. Marsha is survived by her soul mate, Dr. Michael Glade; mother, Jane Valansky of Annville; her brother, Greg Wildasin of Vermont; her brother, Gary Wildasin and his wife, Sally of Annville; her sister, Marie Kayhart and her husband, David of Vermont; six nieces and nephews, (Kyrsha, Megan, Rob, Ty, Carly, Kelsey); seven grandnieces and nephews, (Logan, Zoe, Sadie, Otie, Will, Addie, and Alex); her aunt Joyce Bucks; her aunt Irene Hess and her husband, Blaine; her aunt Mildred Emrich; and many cousins and their families. In lieu of flowers, Marsha asks that memorial contributions honoring her memory be sent to the Cancer Wellness Center, 215 Revere Drive, Northbrook, IL 60062.

I am shocked and utterly saddened by this news. Marsha was one of the nicest, most caring, sweetest people I knew and worked with. I send my condolences to the family and friends of Marsha. She will be very much missed but always in my heart.

To Greg, Gary, Marie and family, I am so sad to hear of Marsha's passing and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Marsha was always happy and smiling; laughing with Kathy Smith. I can remember her from the AC pool as a little girl and on the school bus going to Cornwall and CCHS. She was a lovely girl, and beautiful woman. Many blessings to all.

I was so sorry to hear of Marsha's passing. She will always be the "big kid" to me who was always looking out for me and Marie growing up in Cleona. My thoughts and prayers are with the Wildasin family and loved ones.

Miss you Aunt Marsha. I always loved being with you because you were so good to me and always brought me the coolest gifts. We had a special connection ever since the day I was born. You always told me that I was the only baby you ever met that was born with a cold. Well, my son followed suit. Thank you for inspiring me to to love and appreciate life every single day.

To her entire family, Michael and loving friends: please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Marsha was a joy to know; had a wonderful sense of humor, infectious laughter and was one of the kindest people I've ever encountered. May you find comfort during this difficult time and may she rest in peace.
