Merlin J. "Nook" Klick, 79, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016, at Cedar Haven surrounded by his loved ones. He was the husband of Betty J. Bennethum Klick. On October 28, 2015, they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Born in Lebanon, on November 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Raphael and Miriam Meily Klick.
Nook was a welder and had worked for Quaker Alloy, Cleaver Brooks, P & R Welding, and had owned and operated K & G Welding. He also drove truck for New Penn Motors. He served in the U.S. Navy for five years.
He was a member of the Living Waters Chapel and enjoyed serving in the different areas of his church. He was a member of the American Legion and especially enjoyed the Bernville Dutch Club. He was active at the Mt. Lebanon Camp Meeting Association and had been its groundskeeper for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Todd R. Klick of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; daughter, Wendy A. Stouffer, wife of Michael T. Hammel of Middletown; brother, Sterling "Bud", husband of Sandra Klick of Lebanon; sister, Joyce Grimes of Myerstown; grandchildren, Ryan Stouffer and his fiancée, Jennifer Harris Jones of Texas, Kortne, Logan, Kerstin, and Austin Stouffer, and Connor Stouffer-Funck; and his soon to be great-granddaughter, Devyn Ciera Blackwell. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay M. "Check" Klick, and a sister, Mariam "Dolly" Schucker.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Living Waters Chapel, 1900 Jay St., Lebanon. The viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park, N. Annville Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.
