Mildred Perlmutter Obituary

Mildred May Perlmutter LEBANON Mildred May Baer Perlmutter, 86, of Larkspur Lane in Lebanon passed away on Saturday evening, July 1, 2006. She was the wife of the late Harold Perlmutter who died in 2002 after 62 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 30, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian Maegin Baer of Norristown, Pennsylvania. Surviving are sons Stuart and his wife Louise, and Bruce Perlmutter. She was preceded in death by her eldest son Todd Perlmutter. Surviving in addition to many family members are her brother Stanley Baer and his wife Nonie of Boca Raton, Florida. Grandchildren include Benjamin, Tema and Nathan Perlmutter; great-grandchildren are Todd and Banion Perlmutter. She was a graduate of Overbrook High School and the Pierce School of Business both in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1946 Mildred came to Lebanon where she and her husband Harold founded Harold's Furniture on Cumberland Street. Mildred was an active member of Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue. She was involved in many of the activities in the congregation, which included treasurer of Sisterhood, life member of Hadassah as well as devoting her efforts to Jewish charitable causes. Mildred volunteered throughout her life in many aspects of the Lebanon community to include The Good Samaritan Hospital Street Fair, local PTA as well as numerous other community organizations. She enjoyed dancing, golfing, bowling and playing bridge with her many friends in Lebanon. Mildred had been a long time member of the Elk's Club and The Lebanon Country Club as well as the Snitz Creek Dance Club. She was a good wife to her husband Harold who she adored, a great mother to her sons, and a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren. Mildred loved the Lebanon community where she chose to live her full life. Funeral services will be held at Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, on Wednesday, July 5th, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Jewish Cemetery in Lebanon.
