Richard "Dick" W. Trautman, 82, formerly of Lebanon passed on February 7, 2017 at York Hospital after a short illness.
Born August 24, 1934 in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Kathryn (Friend)
and Joseph Trautman. He was the owner of the former Discount Furniture Barn, York, where he also conducted auctions and held Charity BINGO. Previously Dick was employed by Hoover Co. as a sales representative. Dick's first employment was with the former Sunset Bargain Town, in Lebanon where he started around 15 then well into adulthood.
He enjoyed spending time with family, going to flea markets and on cruises with his best friend (whom he called "Brother") Terry Brillhart. Richard was a home builder and rehabber of his apartments and homes. One of his near daily routines was going to Lowes, where he visited with the employees whom he considered as his extended family. They made him feel special and treated him as one of their own. Thank You Lowes Employees!!
He leaves to cherish his memory, children, Joe Trautman, husband of Bobbie, Kathy Mackey, wife of Chuck, Stephanie Meyer, wife of Ellis; grandchildren, Sherrie Mehring (Chris), Mechanicsburg, Robert Trautman (Kelly), IL, Rebecca Dove (Rick), Myerstown, Elissa Meyer, Mikayla Meyer, Austin Meyer, all of Annville; great-grandchildren, Peyton Mehring, Kye and Rosie Trautman, Brody and Logan Dove. He was preceded by siblings, Teresa Sliko, Earl Trautman, Barbara Buchter.
A viewing and visitation will be on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 6-8 p.m.at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 East Market St., York, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the York Rescue Mission, 363 W. Market St., York, PA 17401

So sorry for your loss. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and Lowe's Family. I for one Will Miss him more than you could know as he was like a Dad to me. Always listening, smiling, and giving big hugs every day! That is what I will miss the most. He had such a kind heart and would do anything for anyone no matter what it was. He is now one of God's Angels! I Will Miss him dearly!
